Introduction – Daily Walk with Jesus

I think the last thing needed is another daily devotional.  In themselves, there is not necessarily any harm and wrong and certainly can be of great help and comfort, it is when they are used to replace our personal daily study of the scriptures when the problem occurs.

The intent of this site is to offer the reader insight into what is involved in a healthy spiritual walk with the Lord and will perhaps encourage one’s own personal pursuit to obtain this.  Anyone can read, but it is only those who take to heart what is being said that will benefit.  My hope and prayer are to share with others, what I have learned and am learning in my own personal experience and pursuit of the Lord -practical helps in obtaining and maintaining our vital and exciting walk with the Living God.

Anything in life worth getting requires our work, and our spiritual growth is no different.  The more we are serious, the more God will take us seriously in our attempts.  We may not be perfect, it is our heart that He always looks at.  Do not expect wonders from heaven to drop on your lap if your heart is not truly in it.   What we sow, we will reap.

Every day is a new day, and we can start it afresh.  Today is a good day to do just that.  If God is for us, who can be against us?  Nothing in our lives that we face now, or have faced – will interfere with our walk with the Lord, only if we allow it to.  The absolute need is to first settle that we will no longer live our lives, according to us, what has happened to us, or not happened, how we have done it or think best – but for today, we will live our lives how God calls us to live – which is in Christ.  You may not know what this really means, and my encouragement to you is that if you desire it, God will reveal to you what this means.

There are a few things that are needed on our part for God to reveal Himself to us.

  • We must first believe!  Believe what?

That Jesus came to earth in the flesh, is the Son of God who died on the cross for the sins of man, paying the penalty of our sin by His shed blood.  Was resurrected by God and sits at God’s right hand.   That we are in need of a Savior – to take away our sin so we may be reconciled to God and experience fellowship with Him.

  • We must read the Bible, every day
  • We must pray daily
  •  We must be thankful
  • We must live as best we know, rightly before God.

If you are doing these things, and your heart is sincere, then be excited, because He will give you His Spirit, who will reveal to you what you need to know:

So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?  Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:9-13

I pray that if there be anything that is life-giving in the things of God be found here, God would reveal to your heart what that is so you may be blessed in Him and your own Daily Walk with Jesus – Amen!

God’s richest blessing be upon you,

Cheryl

I also invite you to my other site:  Way Truth & Life where I go more in-depth in what it means to be a follower of Christ and the blessings that are ours by it.
