And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2
We clearly are in a day where we are seeing the decline of mental health in mass proportion. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, this should not be so among us. Our mental state is an indication of our spiritual state. If we are given to fear, we will be led by fear and not the Lord. Fear begets anxiety, hopelessness, panic, worry, anger, tension & stress, hatred, bitterness, etc. Fear is the opposite of faith. We all walk in and out of fear from time to time as believers in the Lord, but I am referring to of more than that. It is a rooting and planting upon fear that is happening among us bringing us to crisis. A crisis of faith.
We must be on alert and watch that we do not let fear become the voice we listen to, for it will overcome us if we do as it is everywhere.
Daily Walk with Jesus
Turn off the television, unplug from the news websites and commentaries. Be mindful of the conversations and thoughts you engage yourself in. Determine to strive for what Paul directs in this verse:
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Phil 4:8
We are instructed to give our time to the Lord so our minds will be transformed, and this is time better spent. Be a lover of the truth in the Word, and let us begin to fill up on it and start to walk in its instruction anew. Let us maintain that we will be the one who builds our houses upon the Rock and not upon sinking sand, Matt 7:21-27, not only so we will weather the storm that is upon now, but what is to yet come in intensity.
