In the World but not of it

If there ever was a much-needed reminder for saints of God today – it would be this:

Our lives and all that concerns us is found not in this world, but in the Kingdom of God.

Getting our citizenship straight in both understanding and in cooperation is foundational to a healthy walk with the Lord.

“The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”  Luke 17:20-21

“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” John 18:36

To experience the abundant life that Jesus died to give us, this must become our reality.

Upon our conversion, we are granted entry into this magnificent Kingdom – and so conversely we give up our citizenship for this world.  We cannot live in both worlds, for each kingdom is ruled in two distinctive ways.  In the world, we are ruled by our lusts through sin.  In Christ by faith we obey God and by so doing, we deny ourselves (and our lusts).  When we accept Christ- He becomes our life, He is the door we enter, into this new Kingdom, where we conduct our day to day lives in a whole new and living way; John 10:19.  Incredibly really, deserving much more than we acknowledge I’m afraid.

This is our daily walk in Jesus:

To give time and thought to the reality that there are two kingdoms and our life is found in Christ in His Kingdom.  That in every moment of every day we strive to conduct our business according to the Kingdom of God.  In God’s Kingdom to win, we first must lose, to gain we must give, to be cursed we in return bless.   Our motivation and joy is to please God – and our love is self-less.   We remind ourselves that when we live lives according to God, we will not always be in agreement with what is deemed acceptable according to the world’s standard.

Let us pray and ask the Lord to awaken us to His Kingdom and where we are still attempting to live – according to this world.  It truly does involve the Holy Spirit to direct us and show us the way of God for we can be so easily swayed.

This world is not our home, let us take time to let that sink into our understanding in all we do today and forward – Amen!

My passion is Jesus. My desire is to share Him with others. My prayer is that He is glorified.
